How to read this chart
Six columns look like six decisions. In practice, two of them do almost all the work.
Jaw adjustment is the one that decides everything
Every device here works the same way: it holds your lower jaw slightly forward so the airway stays open. How far forward is the whole question. Too little and you still snore. Too much and you wake up with a sore jaw and stop wearing it by week two.
The right number is personal, and nobody knows theirs in advance. That is why adjustment matters more than any other row. A device you can move a millimeter at a time lets you find your setting. A device with two presets, or none, asks you to guess it correctly the first time.
Tray size is the row most people never check
Molding shapes the impression against your teeth. It does not change the physical footprint of the tray. A device built around an average adult mouth is still built around an average adult mouth after you boil it.
That is why "fits most adults" and "fits you" are different sentences, and it is the single most common reason a mouthpiece gets abandoned in a drawer. If you have a smaller jaw, a brand with only one tray has nothing else to offer you.
Watch for the trick in this row too. ZQuiet advertises two sizes, but those are two jaw advancement levels on the same tray footprint, not two mouth sizes.
Trial length is worth less than it looks
A long return window is good, but read how it works before you weigh it. Zyppah advertises the longest at 91 days, and also requires a Return Merchandise Authorization and return shipping at your expense. PureSleep offers 60 days with a prepaid label already in the box. SnoreRx counts its 30 nights from the delivery date, not from the first night you wear it.

What each brand is actually built for
SnoreRx is the closest thing to a pure adjustment device. Boil-and-bite, 1 mm steps up to 6 mm, with a numbered indicator. Its weak spot is the 30-night window, counted from delivery.
ZQuiet is built for people who will not mold anything. Ready to wear, and its living hinge lets your mouth open and close while you sleep, which nothing else here does. The company states its Comfort model works best with straight front teeth.
Zyppah is the only device here that restrains the tongue. If a plain jaw-advancement mouthpiece has already failed you, that is a real reason to look at it. You give up adjustment and sizing entirely to get it.
PureSleep is the cheapest way to find out whether a mandibular device works for you at all. It configures for a standard bite, an overbite or an underbite before you mold it, then locks permanently.
SnoreMeds is the other two-size brand, with an original fit and a small fit. Advancement is fixed at roughly 3 to 4 mm with no way to change it. Note that their site describes the device as FDA-approved; FDA clears devices of this class rather than approving them.

Can I use a boil-and-bite mouthpiece with dentures or implants?
Any mandibular advancement device relies on your own teeth to hold position and to grip during molding. Check with your dentist first if you have dentures, partials, implants, crowns, or loose teeth.
