Most people need a few nights to get used to it. Mild jaw or tooth soreness in the morning is common early on and usually fades as you adjust.

Rinse it with warm water after each use and brush it gently with a soft toothbrush. Let it air dry before storing. Avoid boiling water once it is molded, since heat that high can distort your impression.
