How it works

How VitalSleep Works: 4 Simple Steps to Quieter Nights

VitalSleep is a mouthpiece you mold to your own teeth and adjust for comfort. It holds your lower jaw slightly forward while you sleep. That helps keep your airway more open, which can help reduce snoring.

Each step, explained

What to do, why it matters, and what to do if something feels off.

Step 1

Choose the right size

VitalSleep comes in two sizes. Standard fits most men. Small is about 10% smaller and fits most women and people with smaller mouths.

For example: a man with an average jaw picks Standard. His wife, who has a smaller mouth, picks Small.

Why it matters: the right size is easier to mold and feels less bulky. That makes it easier to keep wearing every night.

  • Not sure which size? Take the 10-second fit quiz or read the sizing guide.
  • Picked the wrong one? Size exchanges are free. Contact our support team and we will help you swap it.

Step 2

Mold it to your teeth

The inside of each tray softens in hot water. You bite down, and it forms around your own teeth. It takes a few minutes at the kitchen sink. The included instructions walk you through it.

For example: after dinner, you heat it, bite down, and check the tooth marks in a mirror. Done.

Why it matters: a good mold helps the mouthpiece stay in place and feel more comfortable through the night.

  • How do I know it worked? You should see clear marks from your upper and lower teeth. Put it back in and open slightly. It should stay on your upper teeth.
  • Feels loose, or the marks look weak? Do not force it. Contact us and we will send a free replacement so you can fit it again.

VitalSleep Accu-Adjust System moving the lower tray forward
Step 3

Adjust for comfort

This is what sets VitalSleep apart. The patented Accu-Adjust System lets you move the lower tray forward in small steps with the included tool. A fixed mouthpiece holds one position. VitalSleep lets you find yours.

Start slow. For the first few nights, sleep with the lower tray in its starting position. Then, if you still snore, move it forward a little at a time. Always set both sides to the same mark.

For example: you wear it flat for three nights to get used to it. Then you move it forward one small step and give it a couple of nights before changing again.

Why it matters: more forward is not always better. The goal is the smallest setting that helps your snoring and still feels comfortable.

  • Jaw or teeth feel sore? Move the lower tray back. Give it a night or two at the lower setting.
  • Adjustment screw feels loose? Stop using the mouthpiece and contact our support team. Do not try to fix or repair it yourself.

Step 4

Sleep quieter

Once it fits well and feels right, VitalSleep holds your lower jaw slightly forward while you sleep. That helps support a more open airway, which can help reduce snoring. Results vary from person to person.

For example: it may feel strange the first night or two. Most people get used to it as they settle on a comfortable setting.

Why it matters: giving it a few nights, and fine-tuning the setting, is often what makes the difference.

  • Still snoring? You may need a little more forward movement. Go one small step at a time and wait a couple of nights between changes.
  • Falls out at night? If your mouth drops open while you sleep, any mouthpiece can slip. Ask us for a free chin strap.

What using VitalSleep can look like in real life

Michael is 48. His snoring keeps his wife awake. Nasal strips did not help much, so he decides to try VitalSleep.

  1. He orders the Standard size.
  2. He follows the instructions and molds it to his teeth.
  3. He sleeps a few nights at the starting position, then moves it forward in small steps.
  4. He finds a setting that feels comfortable. His wife notices his snoring is quieter, and their nights are less interrupted.

This is a made-up example to show the process. It is not a real customer. Results vary, and not everyone will have the same experience.

The 5 questions everyone asks before trying it

Straight answers, including the hard ones.

"What if it does not work for me?"

You get 60 nights to decide, starting on the day it is delivered. If it is not right for you, send it back for a refund. We send you a prepaid return label in the U.S.

We cannot promise it works for everyone. We can make sure trying it is fair.

"What if it does not fit?"

  • It molds to your own teeth.
  • It comes in two sizes, with a free size exchange.
  • If the fit goes wrong, we send a free replacement.

"Will it be uncomfortable?"

It can feel odd for the first few nights. That is why you start at the lowest setting and move forward slowly. Comfort is different for everyone, and the adjustment is what lets you find your own setting.

"How is this different from a cheap mouthguard?"

  • Molds to your teeth for a personal fit
  • Patented Accu-Adjust System for small, even adjustments
  • FDA-cleared to reduce snoring
  • Sold since 2011, with a one-year unlimited warranty

"Is it safe?"

Use it exactly as the instructions say. Your dentist or doctor can check that it is right for your mouth. If your jaw or teeth feel sore, move the lower tray back. Stop using it right away if you have jaw, tooth or gum pain, loose or moving teeth, or discomfort that does not go away, and talk to your dentist.

VitalSleep is cleared to reduce snoring. It is not intended to diagnose or treat sleep apnea. If you have been told you stop breathing at night, or you feel very tired during the day, talk to your doctor first.

Common questions when getting started

Choosing a size

What if I order the wrong size?

Size exchanges are free. Contact our support team and we will help you get the right one.

How do I know if Standard or Small is right for me?

Standard fits most men. Small is about 10% smaller and fits most women. Still unsure? Take the fit quiz.

Molding

What if my mouthpiece feels loose?

Check for clear tooth marks in both trays. If they are faint, or it will not stay on your upper teeth, contact us. We will send a free replacement so you can fit it again.

What if I do not get a good impression the first time?

Do not force it or keep reheating it. Reach out to support, and we will send you a free replacement. Follow the fitting instructions step by step the next time.

Adjusting

What if I still snore after my first adjustment?

That is common. Move the lower tray forward one small step, set both sides to the same mark, and give it a couple of nights before you change it again. Results vary.

Can I adjust it too far?

Yes. Do not over-adjust. More forward is not always better. If your jaw or teeth feel sore, move it back to a lower setting.

What should I do if the adjustment screw becomes loose?

Stop using the mouthpiece and contact our support team. Do not try to repair it. It is covered by the one-year unlimited warranty.

Sleeping

What if my mouthpiece falls out at night?

It can take a few nights to get used to it. If your mouth tends to fall open when you sleep, ask us for a free chin strap.

Is extra saliva normal at first?

Some people notice more saliva during the first few nights while they get used to the mouthpiece. If it does not settle down, contact our support team.

What if my jaw or teeth feel sore?

Move the lower tray back first. If you have pain, loose or moving teeth, or discomfort that does not go away, stop using it and see your dentist.
