Is it healthy to snore?
Snoring is, at least, a mild annoyance and, at worse, a symptom of a serious medical problem. Since snoring comes with a slew of side effects ranging from fatigue to increased risk of heart attack, snoring is not healthy for you nor your sleep partner.
Just as redness and inflammation are our body’s way of telling us something is wrong, snoring, also, is a natural way for our body’s letting us know there may be something amiss. If you snore regularly, it can be a sign of:
- Sleep apnea
- Deviated septum
- Sleep deprivation
Sleep apnea has a number of risks associated with it so if you find you are frequently snoring, you may need to get a sleep test or see a doctor.
